Islington results: European Parliamentary Election 2019
European Parliamentary elections were held in the UK on Thursday 23 May.
The Liberal Democrats topped the poll with 19,890 votes, a 29.8 per cent share of the total vote, narrowly beating Labour, which received 19,017 votes, a 28.5 per cent share.
The Green party came third with 13,047 votes (19.6 per cent), whilst the Brexit party won fourth place with 6,508 (9.8 per cent).
Next came Change UK with 3,771 votes (5.7 per cent), finishing ahead of the Conservatives who got 1,632 votes (2.4 per cent).
UKIP received a 1.4 per cent share of the vote, with the Women’s Equality Party just behind on 1.3 per cent.
The total number of votes cast was 66,657. There were 303 rejected ballot papers.
Counting took place on Sunday 26 May, with results announced after 10pm.
